Due to Pant's dismal run with the bat and the gloves, Sanju Samson's name has been doing the rounds for the ODI and T20I squads. Despite criticism, Pant has managed to get the backing of BCCI Prez Sourav Ganguly who called Pant ‘a special talent'. "His record in Test cricket has been good but the end decision would be left to the selectors,” said Ganguly.
