Sharad Pawar’s statement on Monday that he had neither discussed the Shiv Sena nor government formation in his meeting with Sonia Gandhi created confusion not only among the Sena rank and file but even among many Sena leaders and legislators, with some saying off the record that it would be better for the party to go with the BJP than with Pawar.
