A day after he stepped down, there were whispers in the city BJP headquarters that Fadnavis ought to have handled the crisis with greater tact and sagacity. Some think he gave too long a rope to Shiv Sena in a bid to keep the saffron regime going. The BJP high command however will not hold any grudge against him, a BJP functionary said.
