नवी दिल्ली आयसीसी स्पर्धेतील रविवारी इंग्लंडविरुद्धच्या सामन्यात भारताचा पराभव झाला. या पराभवामुळे भारताला विशेष फरक पडत नसला, तरी शेवटच्या षटकांमध्ये भारतीय फलंदाजांनी केलेल्या फलंदाजीवर जोरदार टीका होऊ लागली आहे. क्रिकेटच्या चाहत्यांबरोबरच क्रिकेटचे तज्ज्ञही शेवटच्या षटकांमध्ये केदार जाधव आणि यांच्या धीम्या फलंदाजीवर टीका करू लागले आहेत. प्रसिद्ध क्रिकेट समालोचक हर्षा भोगले यांनीही आपली नाराजी जाहीर केली. 'सामन्याचा हा निराशाजनक शेवट होता. एका चेंडृत एक धाव बनवणाऱ्या भागीदारीद्वारे सामने जिंकले जात नाहीत. पंड्या खेळेपर्यंतच सामन्याचे आकर्षण शिल्लक होते', अशा शब्दांत भोगले यांनी आपले मत मांडले आहे. माजी कसोटीपटू यांनाही धोनीच्या शेवटच्या षटकांत एकेरी धावा घेणे आवडले नाही. भारताचा विजयरथ रोखणारा एकच संघ होता, तो म्हणजे इंग्लंड हा संघ. शेवटच्या षटकांमध्ये धोनीची खेळण्याची पद्धत गोंधळात टाकणारी होती, असे मांजरेकर म्हणाले. क्रिकेटच्या चाहत्यांनी या सामन्यावर वेगवेगळ्या प्रकारच्या प्रतिक्रिया दिल्या आहेत. भारताची रणनीती शेवटच्या क्षणी हत्यारे टाकण्यासारखी होती, असे मत लोकांनी व्यक्त केले आहे. काही लोकांनी तर या पराजयाला धोनीच जबाबदार असल्याचे म्हटले आहे. गेल्या काही सामन्यांपासून धोनीच्या फलंदाजीवर प्रश्नचिन्ह उपस्थित केले जात आहेत. धोनी फिल्डवर सेट होण्यासाठी अधिक वेळ घेतो आणि पूर्वीसारखा तो फिनिशही करत नाही, असा धोनीवर आरोप आहे. विराट कोहनीने मात्र, या पराभवाचे कारण फलंदाजीची धीमी सुरुवात हे असल्याचे म्हटले आहे. पहिल्या १० षटकांमध्ये भारताच्या २८/१ धावा होत्या.
