Wettest Aug in 32 yrs, 27% surplus rainfall in India

India experienced its wettest month of August in 32 years, with 27% higher than normal rainfall across the country as a whole, and as much as 61% above normal rains in central India. आयपीएलमधील महेंद्रसिंग धोनीच्या चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स संघाला आज दुसरा धक्का बसला आहे. चेन्नईचा नावाजलेला फलंदाज सुरेश रैना आज संघ सोडून मायदेशी परतला आहे. त्यानंतर चेन्नईच्या संघातील एका महाराष्ट्राच्या खेळाडूला करोना झाल्याची धक्कादायक गोष्ट आता समोर आली आहे. वाचा- शुक्रवारी चेन्नईच्या संघातील एका खेळाडूसह १२ सपोर्ट स्टाफच्या सदस्यांना करोना झाला होता. आज वैयक्तिक कारणास्तव रैनाने संघाला सोडचिठ्ठी दिली आहे. तो यावर्षीच्या आयपीएलमध्ये खेळणार नसल्याचे चेन्नई सुपर किंग्सच्या संघाने स्पष्ट केले आहे. हा धक्का बसतो ना बसतो तोच धोनीच्या संघाला दुसरा हादरा बसला आहे. कारण चेन्नईच्या संघातील महाराष्ट्राचा एक खेळाडू करोना पॉझिटीव्ह आढळला आहे. वाचा- शनिवारी महाराष्ट्राचा चेन्नईच्या संघातील २३ वर्षीय युवा खेळाडू ऋतुराज गायकवाडला करोना झाल्याचे निष्पन्न झाले आहे. त्यामुळे आता त्याचावर उपचार करण्यात येणार आहेत. ऋतुराजला १४ दिवस क्वारंटाइन करण्यात येणार असल्याचे समजते. या १४ दिवसांमध्ये ऋतुराजच्या तीन करोना चाचण्या होतील. या तीन करोना चाचण्यांमध्ये जर ऋतुराज निगेटीव्ह आढळला तरच त्याला खेळता येणार आहे. वाचा- ऋतुराज हा २०१६-१७ साली महाराष्ट्राच्या संघात आला होता. त्यानंतर महाराष्ट्राकडून तो रणजी आणि ट्वेन्टी स्पर्धा खेळला. त्यानंतर ऋतुराजची युवा आशियाई स्पर्धेसाठी भारताकडून निवड झाली होती. त्याचबरोबर राष्ट्रीय स्तरावर ऋतुराजने बऱ्याच स्पर्धा खेळल्या आहेत. २०१८ साली ऋतुराजने दमदार फलंदाजी केली होती, त्यानंतर त्याला चेन्नईच्या संघाने आपल्या ताफ्यात सामील करून घेतले होते. दुबईला पोहोचल्यावर चेन्नईचा संघ सहा दिवसांच्या क्वारंटाइनमध्ये होता. त्यानंतर आता या चाचणीत संघातील १३ सदस्य करोनाबाधित असल्याचे पाहायला मिळाले आहे. त्यामुळे आता चेन्नईच्या संपूर्ण संघाला यापुढील सात दिवस क्वारंटाइनमध्ये राहावे लागणार आहे. त्यानंतर पुन्हा एकदा करोनाची चाचणी होणार आहे. या चाचणीत जर खेळाडू करोना निगेटीव्ह आढळले तरच त्यांना सराव करता येणार आहे. युएईला जाण्यापूर्वी चेन्नईच्या संघाचे सराव शिबीर त्यांच्या घरच्या मैदानात आयोजित करण्यात आले होते. सर्व खेळाडू १४ ऑगस्टला या शिबिरासाठी आपल्या घरुन चेन्नईला पोहोचले आणि त्यानंतर २० ऑगस्टपर्यंत हे शिबिर सुरु होते.

मुंबई : आयपीएल सुरू होण्यापूर्वीच महेंद्रसिंह धोनीच्या चेन्नई सुपरकिंग्जला ग्रहण लागलं आहे. टीममध्ये करोनाचा शिरकाव झाल्यानंतर आणखी एक धक्का बसला आहे. वैयक्तिक कारणांसाठी स्टार खेळाडू भारतात परतला असून तो उर्वरित आयपीएलसाठी उपलब्ध नसेल, असं सीएसके व्यवस्थापनाने जाहीर केलंय. अष्टपैलू सुरेश रैना संघात नसल्यामुळे चेन्नईसाठी हा मोठा धक्का मानला जातो. सुरेश रैनाने नुकतीच आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमधून निवृत्ती जाहीर केली होती. चेन्नईच्या संघासोबत तो २१ ऑगस्टलाच दुबईत आयपीएलसाठी दाखल झाला. दुबईला जाण्यापूर्वी झालेल्या ५ दिवसांच्या कॅम्पमध्येही त्याने महेंद्रसिंह धोनी, दीपक चहर, शार्दुल ठाकूर, अंबाती रायुडू, एम विजय आणि गोलंदाजी सल्लागार लक्ष्मीपती बालाजी यांच्यासोबत सहभाग घेतला होता. दुबईत गेल्यापासून चेन्नईचा संघ कॉरंटाईन होता. आणखी काही दिवस चेन्नईला कॉरंटाईन केलं जाणार आहे. कारण, संघातील काही सदस्यांना करोनाची लागण झाल्याचं निष्पन्न झालं. एकीकडे करोनाचा टीममध्येही शिरकाव झालेला असताना रैनाची आयपीएलमधून माघार हा चेन्नईसाठी आणि चाहत्यांसाठीही मोठा धक्का आहे. रैनाने आयपीएलमध्ये १६४ सामन्यात आतापर्यंत ४५२७ धावा कुटल्या आहेत. तिसऱ्या क्रमांकावर त्याने चेन्नईसाठी अनेक मॅच विनिंक खेळी केल्या. रैना ५३६८ धावांवर आयपीएलमध्ये सर्वाधिक धावा करणाऱ्या खेळाडूंच्या यादीत दुसऱ्या क्रमांकावर आहे. त्याच्या पुढे फक्त विराट कोहलीचा समावेश आहे. याशिवाय रैनाने आयपीएलमध्ये १०२ झेल घेतले आहेत.

Cash in circulation up 10% since lockdown

Since March 20, currency in circulation has risen to 26.9 lakh crore—a hike of 10% since the lockdown began. At the same time, the number of Rs 2000 notes in circulation has dipped sharply in two years. भारताचा माजी कर्णधार महेंद्रसिंग धोनीने १५ ऑगस्टला आपली निवृत्ती जाहीर केली. पण धोनीचे करोडो चाहते आणि आजी-माजी खेळाडूंना धोनीला निवृत्तीचा सामना द्यायला हवा, असे वाटत आहे. पण निवृत्तीचा सामना जर द्यायचा असेल, तर एक संपूर्ण संघच तयार असल्याचे भारताचा माजी क्रिकेटपटू इरफान पठाणने सांगितले आहे. इरफानने यावेळी ११ खेळाडूंच्या संघाचे एक ट्विट केले आहे आणि हे ट्विट चांगलेच व्हायरल होत असल्याचे पाहायला मिळत आहे. गेल्या काही वर्षांमध्ये भारताचे बरेच दिग्गज क्रिकेटचपटू निवृत्त झाले. पण या भारताचा माजी महान क्रिकेटपटू सचिन तेंडुलकर वगळता अन्य कोणत्याही क्रिकेटपटूला निवृत्तीचा सामना खेळता आला नाही. राहुल द्रविड, व्हीव्हीएस लक्ष्मण, वीरेंद्र सेहवाग, गौतम गंभीर, झहीर खान या दिग्गजांना आपली निवृत्ती मैदानात घेता आली नव्हती. त्यामुळे ज्या खेळाडंना निवृत्तीचा सामना खेळता आला नाही, त्यांच्यासाठी एक सामना खेळवावा अशई मागणी इरफानने यावेळी केली आहे. वाचा- इरफानने ज्या खेळाडूंना गेल्या काही वर्षात निवृत्तीचा सामना खेळायला मिळाला नाही, त्यांचा एक संघच बनवला आहे. या संघात ११ खेळाडू असून त्यांनी आतापर्यंत क्रिकेटची बरीच वर्षे सेवा केली आहे, त्यामुळे त्यांना निवृत्तीचा सामना खेळायला मिळावा, असे इरफानला वाटत आहे. त्यामुळे त्याने ११ खेळाडूंचा संघ तयार केला आहे. इरफानने ११ माजी क्रिकेटपटूंचा एक संघ तयार केला आहे. या संघाचा निवृत्तीचा सामना विराट कोहलीच्या संघाबरोबर खेळवावा, असेही इरफानने यावेळी म्हटले आहे. त्यामुळे हा सामना खेळवला गेला तर तो भारताचा सध्याचा क्रिकेटचा संघ आणि भारताच्या माजी क्रिकेटपटूंचा संघ यांच्यामध्ये खेळवला जाऊ शकतो. बीसीसीआयने जर हा सामना खेळवायचे ठरवले तर तो चांगला रंगतदार होऊ शकतो. कारण जे माजी खेळाडू आहेत ते अजूनही फिट दिसत आहेत. कारण यामधील काही खेळाडू अजूनही क्रिकेट खेळत आहेत, तर काही प्रशिक्षण देत आहेत. त्यामुळे हे सर्वच खेळाडू क्रिकेटच्या संपर्कात आहेत. त्यामुळे हा सामना खेळवला गेला तर त्याला चाहत्यांचाही चांगला प्रतिसाद मिळू शकतो.

भारताचा माजी कर्णधार महेंद्रसिंग धोनीने १५ ऑगस्टला आपली निवृत्ती जाहीर केली. पण जाहीर केल्यावर धोनीने पाच मिनिटांमध्येच एका व्यक्तीची आवर्जुन भेट घेतल्याचे आता समोर आले आहे. ही व्यक्ती नेमकी आहे तरी कोण, पाहा... आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमध्ये ज्या प्रमाणे महेंद्र सिंह धोनीचे करिअर, त्याचे कर्णधापद आणि विकेटकिपिंग यांना वेगळे स्थान आहे. त्याच प्रमाणे त्याच्या निवृत्तीला वेगळे स्थान मिळाले आहे. शनिवारी संध्याकाळी इस्टाग्रामवर एक व्हिडिओ शेअर करत धोनीने निवृत्ती जाहीर केली आणि संपूर्ण क्रिकेट विश्वाला एकच धक्का दिला. धोनीची निवृत्ती हा क्रिकेट विश्वासाठी एक मोठा धक्का होता. कारण धोनीची आयपीएलच्या तयारीसाठी चेन्नईला आला होता. त्यामुळे धोनी आयपीएलचाच विचार करत असेल, असे सर्वांना वाटत होते. पण तसे घडले नाही. आयपीएलचा सराव सुरु करण्यापूर्वी धोनीने आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमधून आपली निवृत्ती जाहीर केली. या निवृत्तीनंतर धोनीने एका व्यक्तीची खास भेट घेतल्याचे पाहायला मिळाले. धोनीने जेव्हा आपली निवृत्ती जाहीर केली तेव्हा चेन्नईच्या संघातील काही व्यक्ती तिथे होत्या. निवृत्ती जाहीर केल्यावर धोनीने संघातील सहाय्यक प्रशिक्षक लक्ष्मीपती बालाजी यांची भेट घेतली. धोनी जेव्हा निवृत्ती घेतल्यावर बालाजी यांच्याकडे आला तेव्हा त्यांना काहीच सुचत नव्हते. कारण त्यांच्यासाठीही हा एक मोठा धक्का होता. याबाबत बालाजी यांनी सांगितले की, " धोनीने आपली निवृत्ती जाहीर केली आणि पाच मिनिटांमध्येच तो माझ्याजवळ आला. त्यावेळी धोनी नेमकं काय बोलणार, हे मला माहिती नव्हते. धोनीच्या निवृत्तीच्या निर्णयाने मलाही धक्का बसला होता. पण धोनी माझ्याकडे आला आणि त्याने मला सांगितले की, मी पिचची देखभाल करणाऱ्या व्यक्तींना जास्त पाणी मारायला सांगितले आहे. निवृत्तीनंतरही धोनी क्रिकेटबद्दल एवढा बारीक विचार करतो, हे पाहून मला दुसरा धक्का बसला." धोनी आता आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमध्ये खेळणार नसला तरी तो आयपीएलमध्ये मात्र नक्कीच खेळणार आहे. त्यामुळे धोनीचा खेळ आता आयपीएलमध्ये कसा होतो, याकडे क्रिकेट विश्वाचे लक्ष लागलेले असेल.

नवी दिल्ली: करोना व्हायरसमुळे अद्याप पूर्वत झाले नाही. पण क्रिकेटच्या इतिहासात असे काही खेळाडू झाले आहे ज्यांनी शानदार कामगिरी केली आहे. असाच एक विक्रम भारतीय खेळाडूच्या नावावर आहे. एकच दिवशी दोन वेळा शतकी खेळी करण्याचा पराक्रम भारतीय खेळाडूने केला होता. क्रिकेटच्या इतिहासात असा विक्रम प्रथमच झाला होता. जाणून घेऊया या विक्रमाबद्दल... वाचा- आजच्या दिवशी म्हणजे २२ ऑगस्ट रोजी १८९६ मध्ये भारताच्या कुमार श्री यांनी एक अनोखा विक्रम केला होता. इंग्रजांकडून खेळणाऱ्या भारताच्या या खेळाडूने प्रथम श्रेणीतील सामन्या एकाच दिवशी दोन वेळा शतकी खेळी केली होती. वाचा- रणजीत सिंहजी यांनी इंग्लंडकडून कसोटीत जुलै १८९६ साली पदार्पण करत नाबाद १५४ धावा केल्या होत्या. त्यानंतर एक महिन्यांनी इंग्लंडमधील होव शहरात ससेक्स संघाकडून खेळताना त्यांनी यॉर्कशायरविरुद्ध एकाच दिवशी दोन शतकी खेळी केली. यात १०० आणि नाबाद १२५ धावांचा समावेश होता. यॉर्कशायरने पहिल्या डावात ४०७ धावा केल्या होत्या. उत्तरादाखल ससेक्सचा संघ तिसऱ्या दिवशी १९१ धावांवर बाद झाला. यात रणजीत सिंहजी यांच्या १०० धावांचा समावेश होता. फॉलॉऑन मिळाल्यावर त्याच दिवशी दुसऱ्या डावात रणजीत सिंहजी यांनी नाबाद १२५ धावा केल्या. रणजीत सिंहजी यांच्या खेळीने ससेक्सने २ बाद २६० धावा करत सामना वाचवला. वाचा- यासह एका सामन्यात दोन शतक करणारे ते ससेक्सचे तिसरे फलंदाज ठरले. पण या शिवाय प्रथम श्रेणी सामन्यात एकाच दिवशी दोन शतक करणारे ते पहिले क्रिकेटपटू ठरले. रणजीत सिंहजी यांच्यानंतर अशी कामगिरी कोणालाही करता आली नाही. वेस्टर्न ऑस्ट्रेलियाकडून खेळताना मॅथ्यू एलियटने ३१ डिसेंबर १९९५ रोजी १०४ आणि १३५ धावा केल्या. पण पहिल्या डावात त्यांनी ९८ धावा केल्या होत्या. त्यानंतर स्पेनच्या तारिक अली अवान यांने ४ सप्टेंबर २०१२ रोजी युरोपियन चॅम्पियनशिप डिव्हिजन-२ या टी-२० लीगमध्ये दोन वेळा शतकी खेळी केली. त्याने एस्टोनिया विरुद्ध ६६ चेंडूत १५० तर पोर्तुगाल विरुद्ध १४८ धावा केल्या होत्या. वाचा- रणजीत सिंहजी यांनी १८९६ ते १९०२ या कळात इंग्लंड संघाकडून १५ सामने खेळले. हे सर्व सामने ऑस्ट्रेलियाविरुद्ध होते. त्यांनी भारतीय संघाकडून एकही सामना खेळला नाही. रणजीत सिंहजी यांचे करिअर- > इंग्लंडकडून खेळणारे ते पहिले भारतीय क्रिकेटपटू होते > त्यांनी कसोटीत ४४.९५च्या सरासरीने ९८९ धावा केल्या. १७५ ही त्यांची सर्वोच्च खेळी होती. > १९१५ साली शिकार करताना ते जखमी झाले आणि त्यांच्या डोळ्यांची दृष्टी गेली. > देशातील प्रतिष्ठित क्रिकेट स्पर्धा रणजी ट्रॉफी त्यांच्या नावावर ठेवण्यात आली आहे.

The income tax (I-T) department on Friday said it has issued refunds worth Rs 88,652 crore to over 24 lakh taxpayers so far this fiscal.
