The Allahabad high court has observed that there is no penal provision under any statute to bring political parties within the clutches of enforcement authorities, if they fail to fulfil their promises made in the election manifesto. The court's verdict came while hearing a petition that had sought registration of criminal cases against BJP for not fulfilling promises in 2014 LS poll manifesto.
