दुबई: आयसीसी टी-२० वर्ल्डकप सुरू होण्याआधी भारतीय संघाची ओळख सर्वात मजबूत टीम आणि विजेतेपदाचे दावेदार म्हणून केली जात होती. पण पाकिस्तान आणि न्यूझीलंडविरुद्धच्या सामन्यात भारताचा पराभव झाल्यानंतर आता टीम इंडिया स्पर्धेतून पहिल्या फेरीतून बाहेर पडण्याची शक्यता आहे. भारतीय संघाने एकही लढत गमावली तर ते स्पर्धेतून बाहेर पडतली. इतक नव्हे तर त्यांना न्यूझीलंड आणि अफगाणिस्तान यांच्यातील लढतीच्या निकालावर अवलंबून रहावे लागणार आहे. भारतीय संघाने गेल्या दोन सामन्यात कशी कामगिरी केली याचा अंदाज फक्त एका गोष्टीवरून लावता येईल. भारतीय गोलंदाजांनी गेल्या दोन सामन्यात मिळून फक्त दोन विकेट घेतल्या आहेत. भारताची फलंदाजी न्यूझीलंडविरुद्ध देखील अपयशी ठरली. गोलंदाजांना फक्त दोन विकेट घेता आल्या. वाचा- पाकिस्तानविरुद्धच्या सामन्यात भारतीय गोलंदाजांना एकही विकेट घेता आली नाही. बाबर आझम आणि मोहम्मद रिझवान यांनी नाबाद लक्ष्य गाठले. भारताकडून त्या सामन्यात भुवनेश्वर, बुमराह, जडेजा आणि वरुण यांनी गोलंदाजी केली होती. पण १७.५ षटकात भारताला एकही विकेट मिळाली नाही. न्यूझीलंडविरुद्ध भारताला दोन विकेट मिळाल्या. पण या दोन्ही विकेट एकाच गोलंदाजाने म्हणजे जसप्रीत बुमराहने घेतल्या. शमी, शार्दुल, पंड्या, जडेजा आणि वरुण यांनी गोलंदाजी केली पण यश आले नाही. न्यूझीलंडने १४.३ षटकात विजय मिळवला. या कामगिरीवरून भारतीय संघाच्या अपयशाचे कारण स्पष्ट होते. टी-२० वर्ल्डकपच्या आधी वरुण चक्रवर्ती निवडीवर अनेकांनी आश्चर्य व्यक्त केले होते. त्याने आयपीएलमध्ये चांगली गोलंदाजी केली होती. पण वर्ल्डकपमधील दोन सामन्यात वरुण अपयशी ठरला. पाकिस्तानविरुद्ध त्याने ३३ धावा तर न्यूझीलंडविरुद्ध २३ धावा दिल्या. भारताचा अनुभवी गोलंदाज भुवनेश्वर कुमारला देखील पाकिस्तानविरुद्ध अपयशी ठरला. त्यामुळे त्याला दुसऱ्या सामन्यात संधी मिळाली नाही. भुवीच्या जागी संघात स्थान मिळालेल्या शार्दूलला एकही विकेट घेता आली नाही. शमी, जडेजा यांना देखील विकेट घेता आल्या नाहीत. आता विराट कोहली संघात कोणता बदल करतोय हे पाहावे लागले. उर्वरीत ३ सामन्यात आर अश्विन किंवा राहुल चाहर यांना संधी दिली जाऊ शकते.

दुबई: ‘एखाद्या व्यक्तीवर त्याच्या धर्मावरून टीका करणे ही अत्यंय निराशाजनक गोष्ट आहे,’ अशा शब्दांत वेगवान गोलंदाज महंमद शमीला ट्रोल करणाऱ्यांना भारतीय क्रिकेट संघाचा कर्णधार विराट कोहलीने सुनावले. वाचा- भारताला टी-२० क्रिकेट वर्ल्ड कप स्पर्धेत सलामीच्या लढतीत पाकिस्तानकडून पराभव पत्करावा लागला. यातील भारतीय गोलंदाजांना एकही विकेट घेता आली नाही. त्यात शमी महागडा ठरला. यानंतर चिडलेल्या चाहत्यांनी शमीला त्याच्या धर्मावरून ट्रोल केले. सोशल मीडियावर काहींनी शमीला देशद्रोही म्हटले आणि त्याला संघातून काढून टाकायला हवे, असेही म्हटले. यानंतर अनेक आजी-माजी खेळाडूंनी शमीला पाठिंबा दिला होता. न्यूझीलंडविरुद्धच्या लढतीपूर्वी आयोजित पत्रकार परिषदेत कोहलीने यावर भाष्य केले. कोहली म्हणाला, ‘धर्मावरून एखाद्या व्यक्तीला ट्रोल करणारी भावना नसलेली लोक आहेत. यांच्यात आयुष्यात समोरासमोर एखाद्या व्यक्तीला सामोरे जाण्याची हिंमत नसते. आम्ही मैदानात उतरतो, त्याला काहीतरी कारण आहे. मात्र, कारण नसताना एखाद्या व्यक्तीला ट्रोल करणाऱ्या लोकांची मला कीव वाटते. माणुसकीला काळीमा फासणारी ही गोष्ट आहे.’ वाचा- वाचा- शमीवर टीका करण्यात आल्यानंतर फेसबुकने हा आक्षेपार्ह मजकूर लगेचच काढून टाकला होता. मात्र, यानंतर काहींनी इतर सोशल मीडियाचा वापर करून शमीला जाणुनबुजून लक्ष्य केले. तोच धागा पकडून कोहली म्हणाला, ‘प्रत्येकाला आपले मत व्यक्त करण्याचा अधिकार आहे. एखाद्या स्थितीबद्दल काय वाटते, यासाठी लोक नक्कीच व्यक्त होतात. मात्र, धर्मावरून एखाद्या व्यक्तीला डिवचणे यासारखी निराशाजनक गोष्ट कुठलीच नाही. धर्म ही खूप पवित्र गोष्ट आहे.’ शमीने देशासाठी मोठे योगदान दिले आहे. अनेक विजयांत मोलाचा वाटा उचलला आहे. कसोटीमध्ये जेव्हा प्रतिस्पर्धी संघावर दबाव टाकायचा असतो, तेव्हा जसप्रीत बुमराहसह तो आमचा प्रमुख गोलंदाज ठरतो. त्याच्या या कामगिरीकडे दृर्लक्ष करून त्याच्यावर टीका करणाऱ्यांसाठी मी माझा वेळ वाया घालवू इच्छित नाही, असेही कोहलीने स्पष्ट केले. ‘आम्ही सर्वजण त्याच्या पाठीशी आहोत. त्याला पुन्हा धर्मावरून टीका करणाऱ्यांनी आणखी शक्ती लावावी. याचा आमच्या बंधुत्वावर, मैत्रीवर काहीही परिणाम होणार नाही. एक कर्णधार म्हणून तुम्हाला खात्री देतो, आमच्या संघात एक संस्कृती आहे. अशा खालचा स्तराचा विचार संघात कुणाच्याही मनाला शिवत नाही,’ असेही कोहली म्हणाला. वाचा- ... आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तरावर भारताचे प्रतिनिधित्व करणारे खेळाडू विशेष असतात. येथपर्यंत पोहोचण्यासाठी ते किती गोष्टींचा त्याग करतात, याची सामान्य माणसांना कल्पना नसते. प्रत्येक वेळी केलेला त्याग सांगायची आम्हाला गरज वाटत नाही. मात्र, नैराश्य आलेली काही लोक सोशल मीडियावर व्यक्त होऊन स्वत:ला लपविण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात. ही अतिशय वाईट गोष्ट आहे. बाहेरच्या जगातील लोक कसे व्यक्त होतात, याला आमच्या संघात काही किंमत नाही. त्यावर आम्ही कधीच लक्ष देत नाही आणि देणारही नाहीत. - .

दुबई : पाकिस्तानविरुद्धच्या महत्वाच्या सामन्यात पंचाकडून एक मोठी चुक घडल्याचे पाहायला मिळाले आणि त्याला फटका भारतीय संघाला या सामन्यात बसला. पंचांनी हा निर्णय जर योग्य दिला असता तर भारतीय संघ हा सामना जिंकूही शकला असता. चांकडून नेमकी कोणती मोठी चुक घडली पाहा...भारत आणि पाकिस्तान यांच्यातील सामन्याची सुरुवातच भन्नाट झाली. पहिल्याच षटकात पाकिस्तानचा वेगवान गोलंदाज शाहिन आफ्रिदीने रोहित शर्माला बाद केले आणि तिथेच भारताला मोठा धक्का बसला. या धक्क्यातून भारतीय संघ सारवण्याचा प्रयत्न करत होता, पण त्याचवेळी लोकेश राहुलच्या रुपात भारताला दुसरा धक्का बसला. आफ्रिदीनेच राहुलला क्लीन बोल्ड केले आणि भारताला दुसरा धक्का दिला. पण तिथेच पंचांनी मोठी चुक झाल्याचे पाहायला मिळाले. राहुल बोल्ड झाल्यावर थेट मैदानाबाहेर जाण्यासाठी निघाला. त्यावेळी पंचांनी हा चेंडू योग्य आहे की नाही, हे पाहायला हवं होतं. मैदानावरील पंचांच्या पहिल्यांदा ही गोष्ट निदर्शनास यायला हवी होती. पण मैदानातील पंचांना ही गोष्ट समजली नाही. नवीन नियमांनुसार तिसरे पंचही नो बॉलचा निर्णय देऊ शकतात. पण तिसऱ्या पंचांनाही यावेळी या गोष्टीकडे लक्ष दिले नाही. राहुल बाद झाल्यावर जेव्हा पुन्हा एकदा रिप्ले दाखवण्यात आला तेव्हा मात्र शाहिन आफ्रिदीने टाकलेला चेंडू हा नो बॉल असल्याचे स्पष्टपणे दिसत होते. पण तोपर्यंत उशिर झाला होता. पण पंचांच्या या चुकीचा मोठा फटका भारतीय संघाला बसला. कारण भारतीय संघाला राहुलसारखा फॉर्मात असलेला फलंदाज गमवावा लागला. त्याचबरोबर भारतीय संघाची लयही त्यावेळी बिघडल्याचे पाहायला मिळाले. त्यामुळे पंचांची एक चुक भारताला भरपूर महाग पडली. कारण राहुलसारखा खेळाडू एकहाती सामना जिंकवून देऊ शकतो. त्यामुळे जर राहुलला त्यावेळी पंचांनी योग्य निर्णय देऊन नाबाद ठरवले असते तर कदाचित सामन्याचा निकालही बदलेला पाहायला मिळू शकला असता. पण भारताच्या नशिबातच हा पराभव असल्याचे म्हटले जात आहे.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a “red” alert for very heavy rain today over Uttarakhand and western Uttar Pradesh, prompting the government in the hill state to stop pilgrims on the Char Dham yatra route, halting them at various points and advising them not to proceed further till the weather improves. Most educational institutions across Uttarakhand will remain closed today while there will be a ban on trekking, mountaineering, and camping activities in the high altitude areas of the state till Tuesday as a precautionary measure in view of the heavy rain alert issued by the Met department. Live: Toll rises to 22; IMD issues yellow alert for 11 districts

The death toll in flash floods and landslides in Kerala rose to 22 on Sunday, with the recovery of 13 bodies in Kottayam district and nine in Idukki over the past two days. The rainfall was subdued on Sunday after a day of havoc on Saturday. The India meteorological department (IMD) has forecast rainfall in the next three-four days. A yellow alert has been issued by the IMD for districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode.
