Covid-19: Delhi records highest single-day spike
The daily count of Covid-19 in Delhi hit another grim milestone with close to 4,000 people testing positive for the disease on Tuesday. The national capital reported 3,947 new cases — its highest single-day tally so far — taking its total caseload to 66,602. Unemployment rate back at pre-lockdown levels
The unemployment rate fell to its pre-lockdown level of 8.5% in the week ended June 21, led by big gains in the rural areas, economic think tank CMIE said. The rate had gone up from 8.75% in March to 23.5% in April and May. It had peaked at 27.1% in the week ended May 3. The CMIE survey showed the gains in rural areas may even be bigger in the months ahead.

India's Covid tally now 4,25,282, death toll 13,699
The country registered over 10,000 cases for the 11th day in a row. The number of recoveries also continued to surge with 2,37,195 patients cured so far, while there were 1,74,387 active cases, according to the updated official figures at 8 am. नवी दिल्ली: पूर्व लडाखच्या गलवान खोऱ्या सोमवारी चीनच्या लष्करासोबत झालेल्या धुमश्चक्रीत २० भारतीय जवान शहीद झाले तर चीनचे ४३ सैनिक जखमी झालेत. या झटापटीत १७ भारतीय जवान शहीद झाल्याचे लष्कराने रात्री उशिरा सांगितले. या घटनेवर संपूर्ण देशातून तीव्र प्रतिक्रिया येत आहेत. भारतीय खेळाडूंनी देखील शहीद जवानांना श्रद्धांजली वाहिली आहे. भारतीय क्रिकेट संघातील माजी सलामीवीर ने शहीद जवानांना श्रद्धांजली वाहत चीनला सुधरण्याचा सल्ला दिला. (India China Border Dispute) यांच्यात ६ जून रोजी झालेल्या करारानुसार गलवान खोऱ्यातून सैनिकांना माघारी बोलावण्याची प्रक्रिया सुरू होती. भारतीय सैन्याची एक तुकडी जेव्हा नियंत्रण रेषेवरील चीनच्या सैन्याची परिस्थिती जाणून घेण्यासाठी पोहोचले तेव्हा दोन्ही सैन्यांमध्ये झटापट झाली आणि त्यात २० भारतीय जवानांना प्राण गमवावे लागले. सुरुवातीला एका कमांडिंग ऑफिसरसह दोन जवान शहीद झाल्याचं वृत्त धडकलं होतं. पण त्याची पृष्टी लष्करानं केली नव्हती. रात्री उशिरा लष्कराने अधिकृत माहिती देताना या झटापटीत २० जवान शहीद झाले असून १७ जवान शहीद झाल्याचं स्पष्ट केलं होतं. २० जवानांचे शहीद होणे वेदना देणारे, जवानांना श्रद्धांजली- बजरंग पुनिया शहीदांना सलाम, या जवानांच्या कुटुंबीयांचा विचार करून मन उदास- सायना नेहवाल आपल्या जवानांचे बलिदान सर्वोच्च, नेहमी ऋणी- मोहम्मद कैफ आशा आहे की चीन सुधारेल- विरेंद्र सेहवाग देश तुमचे बलिदान कधीच विसरणार नाही- शिखर धवन मन व्यथित झाले- योगेश्वर दत्त शहीद जवानांच्या बलिदानासाठी ऋणी- इरफान पठाण भारतीय क्रीडा क्षेत्रातील अनेक खेळाडूंनी चीनकडून झालेल्या या कुरापतीवर राग आणि नाराजी व्यक्त केली आहे.

नवी दिल्ली: भारतीय क्रिकेट संघाचा माजी कर्णधार महेंद्र सिंह धोनीच्या जीवनावर आधारीत चित्रपटात धोनीची भूमिका केलेल्या सुशांत सिंह रजपूतने काल आत्महत्या केली. सुशांतच्या या निर्णयाने सर्वांनाच धक्काबसला असून अनेक जण त्याच्या जुन्या आठवणींना उजाळा देत आहेत. वाचा- भारतीय क्रिकेटला बदलून टाकणाऱ्या धोनीच्या जीवनावरील चित्रपटातील भूमिकेमुळे सुशांतला यशोशिखरावर पोहोचवले होते. २०१६ साली प्रदर्शित झालेल्या चित्रपटात सुशांतने मारलेल्या हेलिकॉप्टर शॉटचा चाहता तर देखील झाला होता. आपल्यावरील बायोपिकच्या प्रदर्शनाच्या आधी एका पत्रकार परिषदेत धोनीने सुशांतच्या हेलिकॉप्टर शॉटचे कौतुक केले होते. सुशांत अगदी माझ्यासारखा खेळतो. त्याचा हेलिकॉप्टर शॉट तर माझ्याहून चांगला आहे. चित्रपटासाठी त्याने सरावादरम्यान माझ्याहून चांगला शॉट खेळला, असे धोनी म्हणाला होता. फक्त चाहत्यामध्ये नाही तर बॉक्स ऑफिसवर हिट ठरलेल्या धोनीच्या या चित्रपटातील सुशांतची भूमिका सर्वांना आवडली होती. धोनीची व्यक्तीरेखा सुशांतने अगदी उत्तमरित्या साकारली. धोनीबद्दल सुशांत म्हणाला... भारतीय संघात येण्याआधी मला धोनी आवडत होता. कधी वाटले नव्हते की बिहार-झारखंडचा मुलगा भारतीय संघाकडून खेळले. मी २००४ साली पाकिस्तानविरुद्धच्या सामन्यात धोनीला खेळताना पाहिले होते. मोठे केस ठेवणाऱ्या धोनीमध्ये वेगळा आत्मविश्वास होता. त्यानंतर २००६-०७ साली धोनीला पहिल्यांदा भेटण्याची संधी मिळाली. पाकिस्तानविरुद्धच्या सामन्यानंतर मी धोनी सोबत फोटो काढला होता. मी तेंडुलकर आणि सेहवाग यांचा देखील चाहता आहे. पण धोनी सर्वात आवडता खेळाडू असून त्याने छोट्या शहरातील युवकांना स्वप्न पूर्ण करण्याची ताकद दिल्याचे, सुशांत म्हणाला होता. धोनी सोबतच्या चर्चा कधीच विसणार नाही " 'एमएस धोनी द अनटॉल्ड स्टोरी' हा सिनेमा करण्यापूर्वी माझ्या आणि धोनीमध्ये तीन बैठका झाल्या होत्या. या तीन बैठकांमध्ये मला धोनी हा व्यक्ती म्हणून नेमका कसा आहे, हे समजून घ्यायला फार मोठी मदत झाली होती. आमच्या पहिल्या भेटीमध्ये धोनी त्याच्याविषयी फक्त बोलत होता. त्यावेळी मी फक्त ऐकून घ्यायचे काम करत होतो. कारण मला त्याच्याबद्दलची सर्व माहिती हवी होती. आमच्या दुसऱ्या भेटीमध्ये मला काही प्रश्न पडले होते, ते मी धोनीला विचारत होतो आणि धोनी मला त्या प्रश्नांची उत्तरे देत होता. त्यानंतर झालेल्या तिसऱ्या बैठकीमध्ये तर मला धोनीबाबतच्या जवळपास सर्वच गोष्टींचा उलगडा झाला होता. त्यामुळे धोनीबरोबरच्या या तीन बैठका मी कधीही विसरू शकणार नाही."

J&K: Soldier martyred, 2 injured in Pak firing
