पाक क्रिकेटपटू अब्दुल कादीर यांचं निधन

वृत्तसंस्था, कराची/नवी दिल्लीः पाकिस्तानचे महान फिरकी गोलंदाज यांचे शुक्रवारी हृदयविकाराच्या झटक्याने निधन झाले. ते ६३ वर्षांचे होते. अब्दुल कादीर यांना घरी असतानाच हृदयविकाराचा जोरदार झटका आला. यानंतर त्यांना हॉस्पीटलमध्ये दाखल करण्यात आले होते. मात्र, त्यानंतर त्यांचे निधन झाल्याचे जाहीर करण्यात आले. त्यांच्या पश्चात पत्नी, चार मुलगे आणि एक मुलगी असा परिवार आहे. त्यांच्या मुलीने नुकतेच पाकिस्तानचा फलंदाज उमर अकमल याच्याशी विवाह केला होता. १५ सप्टेंबरला ते आपला ६४वा वाढदिवस साजरा करणार होते. अब्दुल कादीर यांनी आपल्या ‘लेगब्रेक गुगली’ने भल्याभल्या फलंदाजांची भंबेरी उडविली होती. आपल्या गोलंदाजीच्या वेगळ्या शैलीने अल्पावधीतच ते आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटमध्ये लोकप्रिय झाले होते. त्यांनी १९७७मध्ये इंग्लंडविरुद्ध कसोटी पदार्पण केले होते. ते अखेरचा कसोटी सामना १९९०मध्ये खेळले. त्यानंतर त्यांनी १९८३मध्ये वन-डेत पदार्पण केले होते,तर अखेरचा वन-डे सामना ते १९९३मध्ये खेळले. एका प्रदर्शनीय सामन्यात १६ वर्षीय सचिन तेंडुलकरने त्यांना षटकार खेचला होता. ही आठवण ते नेहमी सांगत असत. भारतातही ते लोकप्रिय होते. ७०-८०च्या दशकात जेव्हा वेगवान गोलंदाजांचे वर्चस्व होते, तेव्हा त्यांनी आपल्या मनगटी फिरकीद्वारे आपली वर्चस्व निर्माण केले होते. कादीर यांची कारकीर्द प्रकार-सामने-विकेट-सर्वोत्तम-इकॉ. कसोटी ६७ २३६ ९-५६ २.७१ वन-डे १०४ १३२ ५-४४ ४.०६ फर्स्ट क्लास २०९ ९६० ९-४९ २.७३

<strong>सांगली :</strong> सांगलीच्या जत नगरपालिकेच्या मासिक सभेनंतर काल (4 सप्टेंबर) नगरसेवकांमध्ये जोरदार हाणामार झाली. भररस्त्यात झालेली ही मारहाण पाहण्यासाठी दोन्ही गटाच्या नगरसेवक आणि ग्रामस्थांनी एकच गर्दी केली होती. अखेर नगरसेवकांनी मध्यस्थी करुन हा वाद मिटवण्यात आला. सुरुवातीला जत नगरपालिकेतील सत्ताधारी काँग्रेस-राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेस गटाचे नगरसेवक आणि भाजपचे नगरसेवकांमध्ये शाब्दिक चकमक झाली.

Chidambaram faces ED arrest after SC rejects bail plea

The top court dismissed Chidambaram's plea challenging the Delhi High Court verdict denying him anticipatory bail in the case. A bench of Justices R Banumathi and A S Bopanna said this is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail. Grant of anticipatory bail to Chidambaram at this stage will hamper investigation, it said.
