An analysis of the 2017 voting pattern reveals that the Congress polled more votes – between 14,000 and 1.68 lakh – than the BJP in eight Lok Sabha seats, namely Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Surendranagar, Junagadh, Amreli and Anand.
