Congress formally announced on Sunday that Rahul Gandhi would contest from Wayanad in Kerala besides his traditional stronghold of Amethi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, a move the party said was intended to strike a chord with south India but one which attracted a hostile reaction from the Left.
