FB plans to hire 10,000 in EU to build 'metaverse'

Facebook Inc plans to hire 10,000 in the European Union over the next five years, the social media giant said on Monday, to help build the so-called metaverse - a nascent online world where people exist and communicate in shared virtual spaces.In September, Facebook committed $50 million towards building the metaverse, where companies like Roblox Corp and "Fortnite" maker Epic Games have an early foothold.

Onion & tomato prices rise in festive season, oil rates stable

The average prices of pulses and major edible oils have remained almost same as a month back, the prices of onion and tomatoes have gone up due to increased fuel prices and damage to summer crops. The government data, which compiles the prices reported from over 100 centres, show that the average price of onions as on Sunday increased to Rs 39 a kg compared to Rs 28 a month back.

SC collegium bats for 12 despite govt objection

espite the Centre repeatedly expressing its reservations, the Supreme Court collegium has reiterated at least 12 names for appointment as high court judges — nine advocates for judgeship of the J&K, Calcutta and Karnataka HCs, and three district judges for the Allahabad HC. Some of the collegium’s recommendations have been repeated twice since 2018 and have been pending with the government because of “adverse” reports — some reportedly lack eligibility criteria — against them.

हांसी: भारताला २०११ साली आयसीसी वर्ल्डकप जिंकून देण्यात महत्त्वाची भूमिका पार पाडलेल्या क्रिकेटपटू युवराज सिंगला अटक करण्यात आली आहे. हरियाणातील हिसार येथे युवराजला अटक करण्यात आली. अटकेनंतर त्याला जामीन मिळाला आहे. जातिवाचक वक्तव्य केल्याप्रकरणी त्याला अटक करण्यात आली होती. वाचा- रजत कलसन यांनी हांसी शहर पोलिस ठाण्यात एससी एसटी कायद्या अंतर्गत युवराज सिंगविरुद्ध गुन्हा दाखल केला होता. या प्रकरणी त्याला अटक करण्यात आली. त्यानंतर उच्च न्यायालयाने युवीला जामीन मंजूर केला. वाचा- .. युवराज सिंगवर २०२० साली दलित समाजाविरुद्ध आक्षेपार्ह वक्तव्य केल्याचा आरोप होता. या प्रकरणी रजत कलसन यांनी केलेल्या तक्रारीनंतर त्याच्यावर FIR दाखल करण्यात आला होता. युवराज सिंगने एका लाइव्ह चॅटमध्ये भारताचा फिरकी गोलंदाज युजवेंद्र चहलविरुद्ध जातीवाचक शब्दाचा वापर केला होता. त्या घटनेनंतर सोशल मीडियावर युवराज सिंगविरुद्ध मोहिम सुरू झाली होती. त्याने माफी मागावी अशी मागणी अनेक जण करत होते. तेव्हा #युवराज_सिंह_माफी_मांगो हा हॅशटॅग काही दिवस टॉपवर होता. अनेकांचा विरोध असल्याने अखेर युवराजने सोशल मीडियावरून माफी मागितली. जाणून घ्या संपूर्ण प्रकरण रोहित शर्मा (Rohit Sharma) सोबतच्या इस्टाग्राम लाइव्ह चॅटमध्ये एक जातीवाचक शब्द वापरला होता. त्यानंतर दोघांच्या चॅटमधील क्लिप सोशल मीडियावर व्हायरल झाली. रोहित शर्मा आणि यांनी अनेक मुद्दयावर लाइव्ह चॅट केले होते. दोघांनी क्रिकेटच्या मैदानावरील आणि बाहेर अनेक गोष्टी एकमेकांसोबत आणि चाहत्यांसोबत शेअर केल्या. यातच भारतीय संघातील गोलंदाज कुलदीप यादव आणि युजवेंद्र सिंह यांच्याबद्दल कमेंट केली. रोहितसोबत बोलताना युवराजने या दोन क्रिकेटपटूंबद्दल जातीवाचक शब्द वापरले. हा शब्द वाल्मिकी समाजाबद्दल होता. आता यावरून सोशल मीडीयावर युवराजने माफी मागावी अशी मागणी केली जात होती. चॅटमध्ये युवराज आणि रोहित दोघे फिरकीपटू चहलच्या टिकटॉक व्हिडिओवर बोलत होते.
