DSP Ajay Kumar Bassi, who registered a corruption FIR against Asthana, has alleged that RAW special secretary Samanta Goel helped the CBI no. 2 in the alleged extortion of money from Hyderabad-based businessman Sathish Babu Sana. Asthana, in a letter to the CVC, had termed Bassi “an officer of doubtful integrity” enlisted by Verma to “falsely implicate” him.
